Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas that can be fatal if inhaled in large quantities. It causes poisoning because it replaces oxygen in the blood, leading to hypoxia (lack of oxygen in the body).
Danger spots:
🏠 At home:
Fireplaces, wood stoves, gas stoves
Natural gas boilers, water heaters
Ovens and charcoal grills
🚗 On trips & travels:
Closed garages with car engines running
Tents or caravans with gas or charcoal heaters
Hotels or accommodations with poor ventilation and old stoves
Inflatable boats with motors in a closed space
Why is it so dangerous?
🔴 It has no smell or taste, so it is difficult to detect.
🔴 In large quantities, it causes unconsciousness & death within minutes.
🔴 In spaces without good ventilation, it can accumulate dangerously.

✅ Install CO detectors near bedrooms and combustion appliances.
✅ Ventilate spaces with fireplaces, stoves, boilers regularly.
✅ Have heating appliances checked by a technician every year.
✅ Never leave an open fire (coals, fireplace) in a closed space without ventilation.
In Travel & Accommodation
✅ Do not use gas or charcoal heaters in tents and caravans.

What to Do If We Suspect CO Poisoning
🆘 We go out into the open immediately!
🆘 We open doors & windows for ventilation.
🆘 We call an ambulance if someone does not feel well.
🆘 We do not return to the area until the source of the CO has been checked.
