🆘 It can save a life in seconds. Literally.
In light of the tragic loss of a young student in Italy from allergic shock due to a misunderstanding at a restaurant, let’s remember something crucial:
💉 Epinephrine (EpiPen) saves lives.
It is the first line of defense in cases of anaphylaxis – a dangerous, rapid allergic reaction that can cause:
– Sudden drop in blood pressure
– Difficulty breathing
– Swelling in the throat and airway obstruction
How does epinephrine help?
✅ It constricts blood vessels
✅ It opens the bronchi
✅ It stops the reaction
📍 You should always carry it with you if you have a history of severe allergies (food, stings, drugs).
📍 Use it IMMEDIATELY, even over clothing, as soon as the first symptoms begin.
⚠️ Don’t wait for “it to pass” or “for the ambulance to arrive”.
Every second counts.
📦 Always carry two doses with you. The second may be needed until help arrives.
Life is precious. And many times it depends on a small pen in your bag.
