Healthy Eating Guidelines: Balancing Your Plate for Optimal Health

1 time a week red meat (small amounts) or less often

1 time a week chicken

1-2 times a week fish

Daily vegetables and fruits of your choice.

Fruit maximum number per day 3 because of the sugar especially for diabetics.

For example:

2 small tangerines, 1 small pear, 1 medium nectarine, 1 slice watermelon, 10 grapes, 8 cherries, ½ mango, 6 strawberries, 1 small apple, 1 small banana, ½ cup berries, 1 small orange, ½ grapefruit, 1 slice melon, 1 peach, 2 plums, 1 slice of pineapple, ½ pomegranate

Legumes daily (small amounts e.g. 1 large cup of tea) of your choice.

Only olive oil is used if possible.

Eat avocado, almonds, tahini, olives.

Prefer whole-grain products.

Add broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, leek, and garlic to your diet
