Alzheimer’s disease
We often hear this diagnosis but many of us find it difficult to distinguish when our loved ones suffer from it. We mention the most common elements/symptoms of this condition. They certainly cannot replace a proper diagnosis by a neurologist, but maybe if you see them in a loved one then it would be good to visit your doctor soon because early diagnosis is important.
1.Difficulty remembering things that just happened.
2. Inability to plan or solve problems.
3. Loss of date, seasons and time.
4. Changes in mood and personality. Some people with Alzheimer’s may stop grooming habits or keep clean. Alzheimer’s can cause anxiety, confusion, depression or suspicion. It can make people upset much more easily, especially when they are away from their space.
5. Poor decision making.
6. Difficulty in conversations. Inability to follow or participate in a conversation and repeat the same stories.
7. Trouble completing familiar tasks. Trouble driving to a familiar place, forgetting how to cook a simple meal, or not remembering the rules of a favorite game.
8. Withdrawal from their social or work activities. Failure to complete tasks, stop hobbies, or avoid social situations.
So if you notice any of these in a loved one, visit their personal doctor with them.
